On a summer evening in June, The National in Belfast was transformed into a haven of Italian jazz, tantalizing gastronomic aromas, and the refreshing taste of Birra Moretti. Working in partnership with our client, United Wines, the Birra Moretti event, “Ciao Bella-Fast,” exceeded all expectations, providing over 100 guests with an unforgettable, Italian-themed experience. With its relaxed ambiance,  Italian cuisine, captivating jazz melodies, exciting prizes, with a chance to win a holiday for two to Italy, the event truly celebrated life’s simple pleasures.

Understanding the brief

Organizing an event that aligns perfectly with the client’s objectives and brand is paramount for success. Walker aimed to immerse guests in the ambiance of an authentic, relaxed Italian evening and promote the Birra Moretti brand as synonymous with quality, enjoyment, and relaxation. This objective set the foundation for the entire event planning process.

Planning 

The event was thoroughly planned to ensure every aspect was executed to our client’s satisfaction This involved identifying suitable suppliers, coordinating logistics, and securing the necessary resources. Supplier liaison played a crucial role in sourcing authentic Italian ingredients for the antipasti platters, tasty pizzas, musical entertainment, venue dressing by working closely with trusted suppliers, Walker ensured an exceptional culinary, musical and comedy experience for the guests.

Event Design

Creating the right atmosphere is key to transporting guests to a different world. Walker designed all signage and dressing elements to evoke the essence of an idyllic Italian evening. Warm tones, in line with brand guidelines, floral ceiling arrangements, gingham tablecloths, subtle lighting, and even an authentic Italian Vespa scooter, as well as striking wall vinyls, created a relaxed ambiance reminiscent of a lazy, relaxed, garden party in the sun. Vibrant displays and carefully curated decorations further enhanced the overall aesthetic, setting the stage for an enchanting experience.

Competition Mechanic

To engage guests and add an element of excitement, a competition mechanic was incorporated into the event. Attendees had the opportunity to win a trip for two to Italy, a dream vacation that perfectly complemented the theme of the evening. The competition required participants to scan a postcard QR code to enter with a chance to be a chosen as a finalist. Following a quick, fun quiz round, finalists had the chance of winning either a superb hamper of tasty, Italian treats or for the lucky person, the trip to Italy. No guest walked away empty-handed, and all enjoyed being gifted cool Birra Moretti merch, including, branded umbrellas, coolbags, glassware, keyrings and T-Shirts.

An Evening of Delights

As the event unfolded, guests were treated to an array of delights. Platters of authentic antipasti, brimming with flavoursome cheeses, cured meats, breads and succulent olives, delighted the taste buds. The aroma of freshly baked pizzas wafted through the air, transporting everyone to the streets of Naples. Complementing these culinary wonders, Birra Moretti flowed freely, offering guests a refreshing and authentic Italian beer experience.

Captivating Performances

To further enhance the ambiance, local comedians Shane Todd and William Thompson entertained the audience with their hilarious and engaging sets. Laughter filled the air, creating a convivial atmosphere that resonated with the Italian spirit. The fusion of jazz melodies and comedic performances added an element of charm and liveliness to the evening, ensuring a memorable experience for all in attendance.
